In July 2026, we handed the mic to our students so they could look back on their year. Here are excerpts from those interviews: real kids' voices, no script.
“I'd give it 10 out of 10, I had fun all year long.”
Student, age 9 · class of 2026
“Coding is for everyone.”
Student, age 13 · class of 2026
“It's a job that isn't going away, it will still be around in the future.”

The final presentation in front of the parents is a great idea. My daughter was shaking, but she did it.
Third year. Still just as good. Now my son wants to make it his career.
The Minecraft project in the second term was a turning point for my son. He realized you can build games, not just play them. He's been tinkering with mods ever since.
My son built a game project with two classmates. They argued, made up, and had to split the work. What he learned from that is worth as much as the coding.
Second year in a row and the same enthusiasm. My son moved from Scratch to Python this year, and now he writes little scripts on his own at home. The instructors are young and patient, and above all they talk to the kids like colleagues, not like students. That's what makes the difference.
Wonderful!
A big thank you. A great year.
I recommend it without hesitation. Caring atmosphere, small groups, real projects.
A very good experience overall. Email communication is sometimes messy, with several conflicting messages about the camp dates.
The project-based approach is what won us over, and a year later it's confirmed. No lectures, no pointless exercises: the kids have a goal, they build, they test, they try again. My daughter understood what debugging was before she knew what the word meant.
The end-of-year open house blew us away. Watching about fifteen kids present their projects on the mic, with all the nerves and pride that comes with it, was worth more than any report card.
My son learned more logic here in one year than in math class his whole school life. Without even noticing, and that's the best part.
My son is dyslexic and I was a little worried. The team adapted without ever singling him out. He finished the year with a smile and a racing game of his own.
The team is really great, and so are the projects. I'm giving 4 because the room gets noisy when two groups work at the same time.
Very good overall. One downside is parking, it's impossible to find a spot on Wednesdays.
Nothing to change, keep it up
I was skeptical at first, I felt my kids already spent too much time in front of screens. The school changed my mind: this isn't passive screen time, it's creating. My son builds instead of consuming. It's a whole different thing.
Great year! My son loves it, it's all he talks about at dinner 😄 Thank you to the whole Startup Académie team.
Satisfied. My son is asking to come back next year, and that's the best sign.
Good!
A fantastic year. We're re-enrolling both kids.
For the little ones, the approach is really well thought out: lots of hands-on work, games, moving around the room, and the screen only comes later. My 7-year-old understood what a loop was by playing, before he even touched a keyboard.
perfect, my son loved it all year
The February break camp was very well organized, an intense week but the time flew by for the kids.
Pleasant facilities, recent computers, great teacher.
awesome!!! thank you startup academie
Nothing to complain about. Professional and caring.
Great year, my son made friends on top of learning to code. That wasn't a given, he's rather shy.
A decent year. Communication with parents could be a bit more regular.
Very good teaching team. The facilities could use a refresh.
We appreciated the project-based teaching. One small regret: little feedback between the two progress reports, we'd like to know how our child is doing more often.
My daughter is thrilled. I'm giving 4 and not 5 only because school vacations aren't well covered, and we're often left without an option.
Good learning, my son liked robotics much more than the web part, which he found tedious.
Good year. My daughter made progress. I'm taking off one star because prices went up mid-year, and we were told a bit late.
We're grandparents and we're the ones who bring our grandson on Wednesdays. We were made to feel very welcome, and they gladly explain what he's building even though we know nothing about it. A team that's patient with kids and seniors alike.
Lots of kindness and zero competition between the kids. It's refreshing.
flawless
Wonderful team, stimulating projects, happy child. The winning combo.
good year overall, thanks
Interesting content, well pitched for the age group. Not quite enough gender balance in my daughter's group, she was one of only two girls out of twelve. Something to work on.
The parent portal is simple and clear, and we get a recap with photos after each project cycle. We know exactly what goes on during the sessions.
Good first year. We'll see next year if the level keeps up.
My daughter is the youngest in the group and I was afraid she'd fall behind. The team gave her a suitable role on every project, never a watered-down one. She finished the year explaining to her big brother how to move a sprite in Scratch.
Thank you to Sarah and the whole team, my son adores you
happy
My daughter had a good year and clearly made progress. I'm still torn about the price, which is a real expense for us. The quality is there, it's the cost that makes me give 3.
After a difficult school year, Startup Académie was a breath of fresh air for my son. The only place where he felt good at something. I choose my words carefully when I say it helped him get back on his feet.
Good organization, skilled instructors. Perhaps a little more written follow-up for parents is missing.
Nothing but positives this year.
What stays with me: my daughter is no longer afraid of making mistakes. She used to give up as soon as she got stuck. Now she keeps looking for the answer. That's a skill for life, not just for computing.
Good teaching. They just need to remember to give earlier notice when a session is canceled, we found out the same morning twice.
Very good, but online registration is a hassle, the website crashes.
My son really enjoyed it. My only regret is that the group went from 8 to 12 kids in the second term, so he got less attention.
My daughter ended the year saying she wanted to build apps that help people. If that's what the school passes on to them, then it's a success.
I think my son was too young. He followed along without really getting hooked. It's not the school's fault, maybe we started too early.
A very healthy atmosphere, no teasing between the kids, the instructors make sure of it. For a sensitive child like mine, that was decisive.
Pure joy this year, thanks to the team!
A very good year. My daughter built a maze game she's extremely proud of, and she had the whole family test it over the holidays.
Excellent value for money compared to what we'd seen elsewhere.
Perfect as a first introduction to coding. My daughter did screen-free programming for part of the year, I didn't even know that existed.
excellent, nothing to complain about
Our son is making good progress. The equipment is okay but nothing more, some computers are slow and it frustrates him when they lag.
Bright room, equipment in good condition, headphones for everyone. You can tell they've invested in it.
great team great vibe great year
We're a family where nobody knows anything about computers. We were afraid we wouldn't be able to keep up with our daughter. In fact, the school explains everything very clearly, and the pride of watching her explain her code to us at dinner is worth everything.
The instructors take the time to explain to parents what the kids are doing. We're never left in the dark.
The projects are motivating and my son is always happy to go. My only concern is the moments when a child gets stuck: with twelve kids per instructor, the wait can be a bit long. A second staff member for the busy sessions would make a real difference.
A positive year. My daughter was torn between coding and drawing, and here she got to do both with the video game module. A nice surprise.
great year, my teen has become a python whiz. he explains stuff to me that i don't understand
I'm giving 3 stars because I think there's real potential but not everything is fine-tuned yet. The content is solid and my daughter learned a lot, especially about programming logic. On the other hand, the groups were a bit mixed in level at the start of the year: some kids already had experience, others were brand new, and she was sometimes bored in the first few weeks. Things balanced out well after the fall break. I'm re-enrolling for next year.
My daughter really enjoyed the first part of the year. She found the second semester more repetitive and lost some interest in May.
Well organized, happy kids, reassured parents. The price is still a significant investment for a family.
Good level, good atmosphere. The Saturday 9 a.m. slot is early for kids.
Personalized follow-up, real progress, motivated child. We're very pleased with this first year.
My son discovered web design and now he runs the page for his middle school's sports club. At 12, as a volunteer, and nobody asked him to.
Thanks for everything! My boy loved the robotics part.
My son started the year not even knowing what an algorithm was. He's finishing with a little platform game he coded in Scratch and shows off to the whole family. What I appreciated: the instructors don't hand out the answer, they ask questions until the child figures it out. He's rather shy, and he dared to present his project in front of the other parents in June. For me, that's the real success of the year.
My boy did 3D printing and robot programming. He's still talking about it in July.
My daughter got into a computer science track in 10th grade thanks to what she learned here. She's well ahead of her classmates.
My daughter has become more methodical: she breaks a problem into steps, tests, and tries again. It even shows in her homework.
Excellent first year, thank you.
A success.
Perfect.
I didn't expect it to change my daughter so much. She arrived in September saying computers were for boys, her words. In June she presented her quiz app to a full room and answered questions without missing a beat. She's a different child in that respect. The coding is almost a bonus.
Good atmosphere and a pleasant team. My daughter already coded a little before joining, and she found the pace of the first term too slow for her. A more advanced group would suit her better, we talked about it with the team, who are open to discussion.
We weren't looking for a coding school so much as a place where our son would learn to work in a team and see a project through. On that front, the year delivered: he led a group project for three months, with all the tensions and compromises that involves. The startup spirit isn't just a slogan. The technical skills came on top of that, almost naturally.
My daughter wanted to get into computing but I didn't know where to start. A year later, she built a website for her cousin's dance club. On her own. Honestly, well done.
We recommend it. One star off for the lack of spots at the summer camp, which filled up in 48 hours.
My daughter had a blast with Scratch. I'd have liked a bit more offline time, they spend a lot of time on the computer. Maybe a balance to find.
Honestly, the best. My son runs there on Saturday mornings, when we practically have to carry him to school 😅
We've tried three different programs over the past few years. This is the only one my son asks to go to.
We're not re-enrolling, not because we're unhappy but because our son has turned to music. The year went well, though it wasn't memorable.
5 stars, no question
We're satisfied. Our daughter learned Python and the basics of the web. The only downside was the change of instructor in January, it took some time to adjust.
My daughter was unsure about her future path. After this year she knows she wants to work in tech, and above all she knows why. The guest speakers invited in April had a lot to do with it.
A very good year, my daughter has become much more independent.
really happy, thanks
A truly successful year. My daughter looked forward to Wednesday all week long. The projects are hands-on, and she always leaves with something to show.
A good year overall. My daughter moved from Scratch to Python and is keeping up with no trouble, which wasn't a given. Two reservations: the Saturday morning slot clashes with sports, and I'd have liked more regular written feedback on her progress, not just at the halfway point. That said, she enjoys going, and that's what matters most.
What stood out to us was the consistency. No rushed sessions, no last-minute cancellations, a program announced in September and followed through to June. In the world of after-school activities, that's far from the norm.
The pair work is well organized, the kids rotate and learn to listen to each other. My son even learned to compromise, which is quite a feat.
Professional, structured, caring. Nothing to add.
Kids are taken seriously here. That changes everything.
The spring artificial intelligence workshop captivated my teen. He trained his own little image recognition model. At 13.
My son loved it, I liked the price a bit less. But the quality is there, it's fair.
Good teaching, good equipment, warm welcome. What more could you ask for.
Decent, my son learned things. Though it wasn't quite the revelation we were sold at the open house.
The two progress reports during the year are detailed and honest, we understand exactly what our child has mastered and what still needs work. That's rare and much appreciated.
TOP! amazing team, thrilled kids
The move to a new location in February made life harder for us, it's farther away and less accessible by public transport. The content itself is still good.
nothing negative to say, just that it's far from home for us
Good school. Young, motivated instructors, and it shows. Maybe a little too young, though, when it comes to managing a group of 12.
Satisfied overall.
good overall, a few organizational hiccups at the start of the year (schedule changed twice) but it settled down
